Texas – TxDOT’s Atlanta District received the Texas Bluebonnet Safety Award for its commitment to workplace safety and efforts to maintain zero employee incidents. The award recognizes organizations that proactively lower incident rates through safety initiatives.
“Safety is our mission each and every day at work,” said Atlanta District Engineer Rebecca Wells.
TxDOT’s Mission Zero initiative, which aims to eliminate injuries and incidents, has guided the agency for years. Employees are encouraged to take safety timeouts, communicate best practices, and identify hazards to prevent accidents.
The Atlanta District completed 2024 with no injuries, incidents, or lost time.
“It is our expectation and our goal every single year as we carry out our extensive workload,” Wells said. “Getting home at the end of every day to our families is priority one.”
