Waco Man Arrested After Pointing Gun at Women Over Debt Dispute, Violating Bond Conditions

Waco, TX – A 26-year-old Waco man has been arrested and is facing multiple charges after allegedly pointing a firearm at two women during a confrontation over money owed, while also violating the terms of his bond.

Anthony Quinton Smith was arrested and charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, unlawful possession of a firearm, and violation of bond conditions, according to McLennan County jail records.

The incident began when two women, living in the 2900 block of Homan, contacted police to report that Smith had threatened them with a gun. The dispute reportedly stemmed from a financial disagreement with Smith’s girlfriend, who the women said owed them money. The conflict had been escalating through Instagram messages before the women decided to confront Smith’s girlfriend in person.

One of the women noticed Smith arriving at his girlfriend’s home and went outside to speak with him, asking him to have his girlfriend come out and discuss the debt. Smith, however, allegedly became agitated, and an argument quickly escalated. According to police reports, Smith then pulled out a firearm and pointed it at the women, threatening to shoot them and their children.

During the altercation, one of the women managed to record a video, which police say shows Smith holding the weapon. Investigators later obtained a search warrant for Smith’s girlfriend’s home, where they found the firearm in a trash can.

Further investigation revealed that Smith, who has a prior felony conviction, was prohibited from possessing a firearm. In addition, authorities learned that Smith had been released on bond for a previous case with the condition that he stay away from his girlfriend’s home, a condition he violated by being present at the scene.

Smith is currently being held at the McLennan County Jail, with his bond set at $45,000. Authorities continue to investigate the incident as they prepare for further legal proceedings.
