Waco, TX — A 52-year-old Waco man has been arrested and charged with sexual assault after allegedly raping a 17-year-old girl in a vehicle outside a local emergency room clinic. The assault occurred on the evening of December 16 outside the PREMIER ER, located at 221 S. Jack Kultgen Expressway.
According to an arrest warrant affidavit, the victim, a teenager identified only as the daughter of a family friend, had accompanied the suspect, Jeremy Andrew Anderson, to the emergency room because he needed medical treatment for a swollen arm. Anderson reportedly did not want to wait inside the ER and instead asked the girl to wait with him in his vehicle. While parked outside the ER, Anderson allegedly began showing the girl explicit photos of naked men and women on his phone and made inappropriate comments. The affidavit states that Anderson then forced the girl into the backseat of the vehicle, where he sexually assaulted her for approximately 30 to 35 minutes.
The assault reportedly stopped when Anderson received a text message from the ER notifying him that doctors were ready to see him. Anderson exited the vehicle and reportedly told the victim, “Nobody else needs to know about this. Stay here.” The girl remained in the vehicle, crying, for nearly 30 minutes before she contacted her father. Upon learning of the assault, the father immediately instructed her to go inside the ER, inform the staff of what had happened, and wait for police to arrive. Anderson was arrested later that evening and charged with sexual assault, a second-degree felony. He is currently being held at the McLennan County Jail on a $20,000 bond.
The Waco Police Department has not released additional details about the case, but the investigation is ongoing. Anderson’s court appearances are scheduled for the near future, and he faces significant legal consequences if convicted. This case has shocked the local community, especially given the close relationship between the suspect and the victim. Local law enforcement officials are urging anyone with additional information to come forward as the investigation continues.
The victim’s decision to speak out and seek help after the assault highlights the importance of support systems for those experiencing trauma. Counselors and advocacy groups in Waco have also voiced their commitment to helping the victim through the emotional and legal challenges ahead.
As the legal process unfolds, the community remains focused on supporting the victim and ensuring justice is served.
