Waco PD wins 3-point competition ahead of charity basketball game for Special Olympics Texas

Waco, TX – The Waco Police Department, alongside the Waco Fire Department, participated in a fun 3-point competition to promote the upcoming Waco PD vs. Waco Fire Charity Basketball Game, set to raise money for Special Olympics Texas.

The Waco PD emerged victorious in the friendly competition and is hoping to carry that momentum into the real game on March 29. The event will take place at University High School with tip-off at 5 p.m. The game is free to attend, and fans can donate to vote on which team they think will take home the championship title.

A special thank you goes out to Belfor for sharing their sponsor spotlight at tonight’s Baylor game, helping to support this great cause.

On Saturday, March 29, 2025, the Waco Police and Fire Department will go head-to-head, teaming with local Special Olympics Texas athletes to compete in a basketball competition. Additionally, the top fundraising team will take home the 2nd Annual Guns and Hoses Trophy. Join us for this historic event and donate to support either the Waco Police Department or Waco Fire Department.

Event Details:

  • University High School
  • 3201 S New Road, Waco, TX, 76706
  • Saturday, March 29, 2025
  • Doors Open at 4:00 PM, Tip-Off at 5:00 PM
