Waco, TX – The Waco Police Department is excited to announce that this year’s Community Opportunity Event (COE) will be held at the Foster Pavilion on Saturday, May 3, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The event, created by the department’s Neighborhood Engagement Team, aims to provide youth, teens, and young adults with valuable resources and opportunities to succeed.
The COE will feature a variety of activities and services, including life skills training, job opportunities, mentoring programs, and information on mental and physical health.
Attendees will also have access to educational development resources, higher education scholarships, and grant information to help pave the way for their future success.
“This event is a reflection of our belief that policing is about building relationships, not just enforcing laws,” said a department spokesperson. “It’s about knowing the names, stories, and struggles of those we serve and working together as partners to create a stronger, healthier community.”
The department expressed gratitude for the support received thus far in making the event a reality and promised more exciting updates as the date approaches.
