Waco, TX – The Waco Police Department celebrated a successful session of its Police Athletic League (PAL Club) program on April 12, featuring special guests from across the community.
A judge, a superintendent, a dentist, and the Bellmead Police Department’s assistant chief all joined the latest class to share valuable life lessons with participating youth.
The PAL Club, a new nonprofit initiative led by local leaders in partnership with the Waco Police Department, aims to build trust-based relationships between law enforcement and young residents.
Through intellectual and athletic activities, the program promotes teamwork, sportsmanship, and personal growth among youth ages 5 to 16.
Officials say the initiative helps reinforce positive values while allowing children to engage with role models in public service and leadership. The sessions include contests, events, and discussions that give students tools to succeed both on and off the field.
Donations to support future PAL Club programming are welcomed. Those interested in contributing can contact PAL Club President Chaplain Richard Thompson at **[email protected]**. For general inquiries, the club can be reached at **[email protected]**.
The department emphasized its belief that building healthy relationships is key to creating a peaceful and hopeful community, and the PAL Club serves as a vital step in that mission.
