Waco, TX – Waco Police Department officials launched a questionable death investigation after a 39-year-old woman, later identified as Consuelo Bernabe, was discovered in a vehicle in the Brazos River on August 18.
Officers responded around 10:10 a.m. to a report of a Dodge Caravan in the river near N. University Parks Drive and Jefferson Avenue.
Waco Fire dive teams, Texas Game Wardens, and Tow King assisted in recovering the vehicle, where the female victim was found.
Her next of kin has been notified. Authorities said the investigation remains ongoing, and additional details will be released as they become available.
