Waco residents encouraged to use Fire House to Your House program for stray animals

Waco, TX – The City of Waco is reminding residents of the Fire House to Your House Program, a helpful service for locating lost pets.

Waco residents can bring stray animals to their local fire stations to be scanned for a microchip.

This service is designed to quickly reunite lost pets with their owners and keep them out of the local shelter.

Many strays found in the community may not be far from home, and a microchip scan can help identify the animal’s owner.

If a microchip is found, the owner can be contacted, and the animal can be safely returned.

If no chip is found, firefighters will provide information about next steps for the animal.

It’s important to note that microchipping your pet is required by law in Waco, and the city offers free microchips to residents. To learn more or find a nearby fire station, visit Waco-Texas.com/FireHouseToYourHouse.
