Waco, TX – A woman was hospitalized following a crash on Highway 84 in Woodway after police attempted to pull her over for driving on the wrong side of the road.
According to Woodway Police Department, an officer observed the woman’s vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed in the wrong direction on the highway without its headlights on. The officer initiated a traffic stop in an attempt to correct the dangerous driving.
However, as the officer activated the emergency lights, the driver lost control of the vehicle and crashed. Police say the woman was alert and conscious when emergency responders arrived at the scene. She was transported to a nearby hospital for medical evaluation, but her condition has not been disclosed.
At this time, the incident is still under investigation. Authorities have not revealed any further details regarding the cause of the woman’s erratic driving or whether alcohol or drugs were involved.
