Nevada – In a fataI incident that has shaken the Nevada community, 41-year-old Marcetta was arrested and charged with the murder of 3-year-old Jornei. The victim’s dad told authorities in Nevada that he had entrusted the woman, his former girlfriend and housemate for the past year, with the care of his child while he worked his night shift. Upon returning home around 3:30 a.m., the father, Jerremy, discovered a scene of horror. He found the woman on the kitchen floor, surrounded by multipIe bIades and covered in bIood.
Rushing to his child’s bedroom, the parent found his child unresponsive on the bed, prompting him to immediately call 911.
Responding officers arrived to find the woman near the scene and took her into custody without incident. The victim was transported to a local hospital but was pronounced dead upon arrival.
Authorities in Nevada discovered disturbing evidence within the apartment, including notes written in red marker with messages such as, ‘see what happens when you mess with people’s lives,’ and ‘now we both have nothing.’ Additionally, ‘everybody who pIayed me is currsed,’ was found written on a bedroom wall.
During questioning, the woman reportedly admitted to ‘losing it’ and acknowledged stabbing the child more than once in an attempt to get back at her dad. She expressed anger over perceived grievances involving the man, which she claimed led to her actions.
The news of the child’s death has devastated her family and the local community. Her mother, PhaIIan, described her daughter as a bright and joyful child. She expressed profound grief over the loss, stating, “I woke up this morning, and I was really hoping this was a dream.” She called for justice for her daughter, emphasizing, “I deserve justice.”
The 41-year-old defendant was booked on charges of open murder with a deadly weapon. She made her first court appearance on March 27, 2025, where a judge ordered that she be held without bail. The case has drawn significant attention, with community members expressing outrage and sorrow over the incident.
