DPS troopers assisted Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Homeland Security Investigations to make 118 arrests during the Colony Ridge operation

Texas – Governor Greg Abbott, the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), and the Texas National Guard are continuing their collaborative efforts with the Trump Administration to secure the Texas-Mexico border.

Their mission focuses on halting the smuggling of drugs, weapons, and people, while detecting and interdicting transnational criminal activity outside of ports of entry.

Since the launch of Operation Lone Star, the initiative has led to over 531,500 illegal immigrant apprehensions and more than 51,000 criminal arrests, resulting in over 43,700 felony charges.

In the battle against the fentanyl crisis, Texas law enforcement has seized more than 625 million lethal doses of fentanyl—enough to potentially kill every person in the United States, Mexico, and Canada combined.

Governor Abbott also highlighted the successful efforts of DPS troopers, who assisted Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) in making 118 arrests during the Colony Ridge operation.

Governor Abbott stated that Operation Lone Star is essential in undoing the damage caused by the current administration’s border policies, emphasizing that every apprehension, arrest, and drug seizure represents a critical step in protecting Texas communities and the nation. Texas will continue to partner with the Trump Administration in homeland and border security operations.
