Waco Police Department to host Peace Officer Memorial Service honoring fallen officers

Applications are open for the WPD Junior Police Academy, police officials say

Waco, TX – The Waco Police Department is inviting the community to attend the McLennan County Peace Officer Memorial Service on Wednesday, May 15, at 10 a.m. at Indian Spring Park.

The annual ceremony is held in conjunction with National Police Week to honor law enforcement officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty.

The event serves as a solemn reminder of the sacrifices made by officers and offers an opportunity for the public to show their support for the families left behind.

Department officials emphasized that community presence is deeply meaningful, stating that attendance helps underscore the enduring gratitude and respect for those who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to their community.

All are encouraged to attend and join in remembering and honoring McLennan County’s fallen peace officers.
