Waco, TX – Waco firefighters paused on Wednesday morning to pay tribute to the lives lost in the September 11 attacks.
All fire stations across the city participated in the remembrance, holding moments of silence to mark the 24th anniversary of the tragedy.
In addition, members of the Waco Fire Department took part in a 9/11 Stair Climb to honor the legacy of the 343 FDNY firefighters who died in the line of duty.
The event was hosted at McLane Stadium, which opened its doors for the tribute.
City officials encouraged residents to also take time to reflect on the events of that day and to honor the memory of those who were lost.
