Texas – Governor Greg Abbott spoke on Texas’ economic growth and thriving finance sector during a fireside chat at the second annual Texas Economic Development Corporation (TxEDC) Investor Summit.
“The Texas economy is leading America,” Abbott said, citing the state’s young, growing, and diverse workforce, a predictable regulatory environment, and absence of a state income tax.
He highlighted the Dallas-Fort Worth area’s role in the state’s economic success, including the expansion of the Texas Stock Exchange, Nasdaq, and New York Stock Exchange branches, as well as the relocation of Fortune 500 companies to Texas.
During the discussion, Abbott emphasized the surge of Fortune 500 companies and small businesses moving to Texas, attributing the trend to the state’s business-friendly policies.
He described Texas as a modern embodiment of the American Dream and underscored efforts to reduce regulatory barriers to support businesses of all sizes.
The fireside chat was moderated by Texas Association of Business President and CEO Glenn Hamer. Governor Abbott was joined by TxEDC Board Chairman Arun Agarwal, TxEDC President and CEO Aaron Demerson, and other elected officials and business leaders.
