Waco, TX – The Waco Police Department is teaming up with Special Olympics Texas to raise donations in support of athletes and upcoming Special Olympics games.
Police officials announced they are participating in the annual fundraising plunge, encouraging community members to support the department’s team or create their own team to take part in the event. All proceeds raised will benefit Special Olympics Texas.
The plunge is scheduled for January 17 at Hawaiian Falls. Registration will begin at 8 a.m., with participants set to take the plunge at 9:15 a.m.
Department representatives said they are proud to support Special Olympics Texas and the athletes it serves, noting that community involvement plays a key role in the success of the organization’s programs.
