Waco, TX – The Waco Police Department has appointed Adam Brewer as the new Assistant Chief over the Patrol Operations Division. Brewer began his career with the department in November 2012 and was sworn in as a police officer on June 13, 2013.
He spent six years on evening and midnight patrol shifts before being promoted to sergeant in June 2019, overseeing both the midnight and day patrol shifts. In 2020, Brewer became Patrol Administration Sergeant and received a Certificate of Merit award. He was promoted to commander in January 2023, serving on the evening shift until his recent appointment as assistant chief.
A Waco native and Midway High School graduate, Brewer holds a bachelor’s degree in communications with a minor in political science from Baylor University. Department officials praised his leadership and experience, expressing confidence in his continued service in the new role.
