Waco, TX – The City of Waco and Congressman Pete Sessions hosted a press conference on March 20 at Waco City Hall to announce a $1 million federal Community Project Funding award for the Flat Creek Water Reuse Project.
The funding will support the first of four phases of the project, which aims to reuse treated wastewater for non-potable purposes once completed.
Officials said the project will help reduce demand on drinking water supplies, extend the life of Lake Waco’s water resources and support industrial growth and economic development in the area.
The award was secured through federal appropriations legislation passed by Congress and signed into law on January 23, 2026, with support from Congressman Sessions.
City officials highlighted the project as a key investment in long-term water sustainability and infrastructure development for the community.
