Waco, TX – The Waco Police Department expressed appreciation to residents who attended the recent Community Opportunity Event, describing the gathering as a success.
According to the department, the event—also known as “The COE”—brought community members together to connect with local resources and opportunities.
Officials thanked attendees for their participation and said they look forward to hosting the event again next year.
As part of the initiative, organizers highlighted a $4,500 scholarship opportunity provided by Southern Careers Institute.
The scholarship is available to students interested in attending the institute’s trade school programs, with a deadline to apply set for May 15.
The department encouraged those interested to apply before the deadline and to seek additional details through the event’s organizers.
Officials said the Community Opportunity Event aims to strengthen community engagement while providing access to educational and career pathways for residents.
