Houston, TX – The Houston Police Department carried out a coordinated enforcement operation on April 29, targeting an alleged illegal game room in northeast Houston.
According to police, HPD’s Vice Division, North Belt Division, and SWAT Detail executed a search warrant at a property located at 14707 Eastex Freeway as part of an ongoing investigation into illegal gambling activity.
Authorities said the operation resulted in three arrests and the seizure of 74 video gambling devices from the location. Officers also issued multiple citations related to building code, fire code, and other municipal violations.
Police described the action as part of broader efforts to investigate and shut down unlicensed or illegal gambling operations in the city. These types of investigations typically involve coordination between multiple divisions due to potential criminal activity and safety concerns tied to unregulated businesses.
Officials have not released the identities of those arrested, and it was not immediately clear what specific charges they may face following the raid. The investigation remains ongoing.
The Houston Police Department said illegal game room operations often raise concerns beyond gambling laws, including safety violations, unregulated cash handling, and potential ties to other criminal activity.
Authorities continue to encourage residents to report suspected illegal gambling locations as part of ongoing enforcement efforts.
