Houston, TX – The Houston Police Department announced a coordinated multi-agency enforcement operation that resulted in the seizure of firearms, drugs, and other illegal items, along with the arrest of two suspects.
According to police, the operation took place on April 29 and involved multiple divisions, including HPD’s Gang Division, Narcotics Division, and South Gessner Division. The effort also included assistance from several federal and state partners, including the Federal Bureau of Investigation Houston office, the Drug Enforcement AdministrationHouston Division, the Texas Department of Public Safety South Texas Region, and the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities said the coordinated effort led to the removal of 31 firearms from circulation, along with illegal weapon modifications. Officers also seized large quantities of narcotics, including methamphetamine, Xanax, and other controlled substances.
Police said the operation was part of ongoing efforts to target illegal drug activity and remove weapons from individuals who are prohibited from possessing them. Officials emphasized that these types of joint operations are designed to improve public safety and reduce violent crime risk in the community.
Two suspects were arrested during the operation and are facing multiple charges related to firearms and narcotics violations. Authorities have not released additional details about the identities of those arrested.
Officials described the effort as a successful example of collaboration between local, state, and federal agencies working together to address organized crime and drug trafficking networks.
The investigation remains ongoing as authorities continue to analyze evidence and pursue additional leads connected to the case.
