Waco, TX – The City of Waco celebrated the reopening of Chapel Park in West Waco on October 27 after a $750,000 improvement project delivered new recreational amenities for families and neighborhood residents.
The city marked the reopening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, announcing that construction wrapped up ahead of schedule.
The upgrades include a new interactive splash pad with improved safety and accessibility features, shaded seating areas for families and an expanded pavilion designed for gatherings and celebrations.
The improvements aim to make the neighborhood park more welcoming and accessible while providing additional opportunities for families to enjoy outdoor recreation.
Kraftsman Play designed and constructed the improvements, with the city also recognizing Midway ISD for its partnership in bringing new amenities to West Waco.
Chapel Park is located at 9420 Chapel Road, next to Chapel Park Elementary School. The city said the refreshed park is now open for residents and families to enjoy.
