Texas – Texas Agriculture Commissioner Miller announced that Governor Greg Abbott has appointed him to serve on the Texas Nutrition Advisory Committee, which develops nutritional guidelines for residents across the state.
In a statement, Miller expressed gratitude for the appointment and emphasized his commitment to ensuring Texans have access to high-quality, nutritious food.
He highlighted the successes of the Texas Department of Agriculture in expanding access to healthy school meals, supporting school nutrition teams, and connecting Texas-grown products to students through initiatives like the Farm Fresh Network.
Miller noted that Texas has maintained strong nutrition programs even during federal program uncertainties, ensuring that children and families continue to receive balanced meals. He said his goal as a committee member is to provide science-based guidance that promotes nutritious foods, supports farmers and ranchers, respects parental choice, and delivers tangible results.
Officials said Miller plans to build on Texas’ existing achievements in nutrition while continuing to prioritize health, independence, and community-focused solutions for residents across the state.
