Texas – The Common Market Texas held its official grand reopening on Thursday, October 3, 2025, at its renovated Houston warehouse, marking a major milestone for local farmers, ranchers, and food systems. The event, themed “Homecoming,” ran from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at 2121 Gulf Central Drive.
The nonprofit food distributor connects family farmers with schools, hospitals, and communities across Texas. Renovations to the Houston facility expanded capacity and improved cold storage, enabling the organization to better serve farmers and customers throughout the region.
The celebration featured a ribbon-cutting ceremony, a press conference with state and local leaders, awards recognizing food system champions, and guided tours of the modernized warehouse. The event concluded with a farm-to-table lunch highlighting products from Texas farm partners.
Texas Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller said the reopening reflects the state’s commitment to strengthening food infrastructure, supporting rural economies, and promoting Texas-grown products through programs like GO TEXAN. He emphasized that the milestone supports local jobs, families, and the state’s $195 billion agriculture industry.
