ROBINSON, Texas – A 42-year-old former employee of the Robinson Independent School District (ISD) was arrested on January 29 after being charged with improper relationship between an educator and a student. Christopher Gonzales, who was employed at the district, was taken into custody after a thorough investigation by the Robinson Police Department.
The investigation was launched following a report from the parents of an 18-year-old male student. The parents alerted authorities on January 22, raising concerns about a possible inappropriate relationship between Gonzales and their child. According to police, an affidavit confirmed that the student was an adult at the time of the alleged incidents.
After obtaining search warrants for Gonzales’ mobile and electronic devices, investigators uncovered sexually explicit messages and photographs exchanged between Gonzales and the student. Further examination of the devices revealed that Gonzales had deleted crucial evidence and had reportedly instructed the student to do the same, according to police.
In response to the allegations, Robinson ISD officials acted swiftly and terminated Gonzales’ employment after being notified of the situation. The school district has not released additional details regarding his tenure or role within the school.
Gonzales was arrested on January 29 in the 1700 block of Nelva Drive in Waco. He faces charges related to an improper relationship between an educator and a student, a serious criminal offense under Texas law. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities have not indicated if additional charges may follow.
The case highlights ongoing concerns about student safety and the responsibilities of educators to maintain professional boundaries with those they serve. Robinson ISD officials have stated that they are fully cooperating with law enforcement to ensure a thorough investigation.
