Mother allowed man, who was initially in a relationship with her, to live with her 12-year-old daughter as a couple before she enabled him to rqpe and impregnate the child; sentenced

According to the court documents, the 36-year-old mother, Desire, was sentenced to 15 years in prison after she pleaded guilty to enabling child se-ual abuse and child neglect. Prosecutors said the woman must serve at least 85% of the sentence before she is eligible for parole. The mother reportedly allowed the then-24-year-old man, Juan, to ra-e and impregnate her 12-year-old daughter.

The 26-year-old man was sentenced to 20 years in prison after pleading guilty to first-degree ra-e of a victim under the age of 14. Authorities began their investigation after they learned about this incident when the 12-year-old child, who was not identified due to her age, was brought to the local hospital. The girl then gave birth to the suspect’s child.

Prosecutors said that family members reportedly knew about the relationship between the victim and Juan. The family and the mother reportedly permitted the relationship, and there are photos of the family throwing a baby shower for the victim and the suspect, prosecutors said. Per reports, Juan was in a relationship with Desire before she let him live with her daughter as a couple and then enabled him to ra-e and impregnate the victim.

Juan admitted he was the biological father of the newborn even though the age of consent in the state is 16, prosecutors said. Juan proudly said he was the father of the baby the 12-year-old child was about to deliver. Authorities suggested that he thought he was going to go home that day and acted as if what he did was legal. Both defendants in this case are facing the consequences of their actions and will spend time in jail.
