Texas – Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton announced that he received the endorsement of the National Border Patrol Council, saying the support from Border Patrol agents reflects the importance of continuing President Donald Trump’s border security agenda.

“I am honored to earn the endorsement of the National Border Patrol Council,” Paxton wrote on X. “No one understands the consequences of open-border policies better than the brave men and women on the front lines. I will keep fighting to ensure President Trump’s border security agenda is fully implemented.”

The National Border Patrol Council, the union representing U.S. Border Patrol agents and employees, announced its support for Paxton as he continues his campaign for the U.S. Senate seat in Texas. The organization said it backed Paxton because of his support for law enforcement and border security policies, FOX News reported.

National Border Patrol Council President Paul Perez said the union was supporting Paxton because it believed he would continue fighting for the resources and policies Border Patrol agents need to secure the nation’s borders.

The endorsement comes as Paxton continues to make border security a central issue in his Senate campaign. Paxton has repeatedly highlighted his legal battles against federal immigration policies and his support for Trump’s approach to border enforcement.

The Texas attorney general has positioned himself as one of Trump’s strongest allies in the state, and immigration policy has been a major part of his political message. Earlier in the Senate race, Trump endorsed Paxton over incumbent Sen. John Cornyn in the Republican primary, giving Paxton a major boost among conservative voters.

In his statement about the endorsement, Paxton praised Border Patrol agents and other law enforcement officials who work on immigration enforcement efforts, saying he would continue pushing for policies aligned with Trump’s border security priorities.

The National Border Patrol Council has historically been active in national immigration debates, often advocating for stronger enforcement measures and additional resources for Border Patrol personnel.

The endorsement adds another major law enforcement organization to Paxton’s list of supporters as the Texas Senate race moves forward. The contest is expected to focus heavily on issues including immigration, border security, public safety, and the future direction of the Republican Party in Texas.

Paxton’s Democratic opponent, James Talarico, has also gained national attention in the race, making the Senate contest one of the most closely watched political battles in the state.

With border security remaining one of the top issues among Texas voters, Paxton’s campaign is expected to continue emphasizing his alignment with Trump’s immigration agenda and support from law enforcement groups.
