Waco, TX – The City of Waco announced that Waco Regional Airport will host a full-scale emergency exercise on Wednesday, April 15, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
The exercise will simulate an aircraft crash, allowing emergency responders and partner agencies to train in a controlled environment.
More than 100 volunteers are expected to participate, acting as injured passengers and family members.
Officials said the drill is required by the Federal Aviation Administration every three years as part of the airport’s Emergency Plan to ensure readiness for real-world incidents.
Flights at the airport will continue to operate as scheduled, and no impact to passengers is expected during the exercise.
