Waco Police seek public’s help in unsolved homicide investigation

Waco Teenager Sentenced to 14 Years for Gang-Related Shooting

Waco, TX – The Waco Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance as the investigation into a fatal shooting that occurred in 2024 remains ongoing.

According to officials, officers responded to the 1100 block of North 6th Street on April 4, 2024, after receiving a call about a shooting. Upon arrival, they located a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

Police stated that a suspect was not located at the scene, and the case remains unsolved. The victim was later identified as Austin Bowar.

As the investigation continues, authorities are urging anyone with information related to the case to come forward. Individuals can contact the Waco Police Department directly at 254-750-7500 or provide anonymous tips through Crime Stoppers by calling 254-753-HELP (4357). Officials noted that tips leading to an arrest may be eligible for a reward of up to $2,000.
