Waco, TX – Texas Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller expressed support for the introduction of the No Discrimination in Farm Programs Act by U.S. House Budget Committee Chairman Jodey Arrington.
Miller criticized the Biden administration for distributing disaster payments based on the identity of applicants rather than merit, fairness, and equal opportunity.
He called the practice “fundamentally wrong and unconstitutional” and said he opposed it throughout his tenure.
“The truth is disasters don’t discriminate against our farmers and ranchers based on their race or gender, and neither should government programs,” Miller said, urging Congress to address the issue.
