Waco Fire Department welcomes new Ladder 1 with community push-in ceremony honoring lieutenant who served 42 years

Waco, TX – The Waco Fire Department welcomed its new Ladder 1 during a Fire Station 1 open house, where community members gathered to learn about fire safety, meet firefighters and take part in a special ceremonial truck push-in.

The department thanked everyone who attended the event, which included tours of fire trucks, fire safety tips and a behind-the-scenes look at firefighters’ daily work.

One of the highlights was the ceremonial push-in, when children and families helped push the new Ladder 1 into the station. The department praised the young participants for bringing their strength and enthusiasm to the event.

The ceremony also honored Lt. John Linda, whose memory was dedicated to the new tiller truck. Linda devoted 42 years of service to the Waco Fire Department, and the dedication recognized his long-standing contribution to the community.

The department thanked Waco residents for helping make the event special, saying Linda’s legacy will continue through the new truck and the department’s service to the community.
