Texas – The Texas Department of Agriculture announced a recall of imported shrimp sold in 31 states due to radioactive contamination concerns.
Commissioner Miller described the situation as “flat-out unacceptable” and emphasized that Americans deserve safe and clean food.
He encouraged consumers to purchase wild-caught Texas shrimp, highlighting its quality, freshness, and safety compared to imports handled under less stringent conditions.
The recall serves as a reminder of the importance of sourcing seafood from trusted, local suppliers to ensure food safety.
