Texas – Greg Abbott paid tribute to fallen members of the U.S. Armed Forces during a Memorial Day ceremony held at Sugar Land Memorial Park.
During the event, Abbott honored service members who died while serving the nation and called on Texans to remember the sacrifices made to protect American freedoms. He also encouraged residents to teach future generations about the cost of liberty and the importance of military service.
Abbott said Americans should honor fallen troops not only on Memorial Day, but throughout the year by living in a way that reflects the sacrifices made by military members and their families.
The governor was joined at the ceremony by Carol McCutcheon, retired Brigadier General Dave Van Kleeck, Houston Texans Player Development Advisor Mikado Hinson, military advocates, and local service members.
