Waco, TX – The City of Waco recognized the latest graduates of the Waco City Academy following a 10-week program designed to educate residents about civic engagement and the functions of local government.
According to the City of Waco Public Information Office, participants completed a series of weekly sessions that included presentations, discussions, and interactive activities led by various city departments.
The program provided an inside look at the day-to-day responsibilities involved in operating municipal government.
Officials said the academy allowed participants to engage directly with city staff and learn about the challenges and decision-making processes involved in public service.
Each session focused on a different aspect of city operations, offering a broader understanding of how departments work together to serve the community.
The city said the program is intended to strengthen connections between residents and local government while encouraging greater participation in civic life.
City officials also announced that information about the 2027 Waco City Academy will be released in January, encouraging residents who are interested in participating to watch for upcoming application details.
The City of Waco congratulated the graduates and thanked them for their commitment to learning more about how their local government functions.
