Waco, TX – The Waco Fire Department sent Tactical Tender 15 and three personnel to Jack County on Aug. 26 to support wildfire response efforts across Texas.
The deployment was announced two days ago as multiple major wildfires were burning across the state.
The Waco crew was sent to Jack County in support of the Texas A&M Forest Service’s All-Hazards Incident Management Team, which was assisting with wildfire operations.
The deployment added to the Waco Fire Department’s response, with another WFD unit already deployed to assist with wildfire operations elsewhere in Texas.
The department said the additional personnel and equipment were being provided as part of the broader statewide response to multiple major fires.
Tactical Tender 15 provides water support for firefighting operations, giving crews an additional resource while working in areas affected by wildfires.
The Waco Fire Department did not provide further details about the specific fires being addressed by the deployed crews or how long the units were expected to remain in the field.
