Waco, TX – The West Waco Library & Genealogy Center has reopened to the public following a month-long closure for updates and improvements to the facility.
The City of Waco and Waco-McLennan County Library announced the reopening October 5, welcoming residents back to the library at 5301 Bosque Blvd.
The renovation work included new flooring, accessibility improvements and fresh paint throughout the library, giving the facility an updated look and improved accessibility for visitors.
Patrons celebrated the reopening with cookies and refreshments while getting their first look at the changes.
The library is encouraging residents who have not yet visited since the reopening to stop by and take advantage of the updated space. Visitors can browse books, research family history, work on puzzles or simply use the library as a place to read, work or relax.
The West Waco Library & Genealogy Center is open Mondays from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. The library is closed Sundays.
The reopening marks the completion of the latest improvements at the West Waco location, which serves residents looking for library resources, genealogy services and a place to gather and spend time in the community.
