Austin, TX – Austin police are asking the public for help identifying a man accused of assaulting a security officer at Huston-Tillotson University.
The incident happened at approximately 12:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 1, at the university property located at 900 Chicon Street.
According to the Austin Police Department, a male suspect was discovered trespassing on the property. A security officer attempted to escort the man off the property when the suspect physically assaulted the officer.
The security officer sustained minor injuries in the assault.
Police said the suspect was captured on security camera footage following the incident and are asking anyone who recognizes him or has information about his identity to contact investigators.
The suspect was described as a Black male. At the time of the incident, he was last seen wearing a dark T-shirt, blue warm-up pants, dark sliders and green socks.
The APD Aggravated Assault Unit is investigating the incident and is seeking information that could help identify the suspect.

Anonymous tips can also be submitted through the Capital Area Crime Stoppers Program. A reward of up to $1,000 may be available for information that leads to an arrest.
