Dallas, TX – The Dallas Police Department is celebrating the success of its Police Explorers program after participants earned multiple awards and scholarships at a statewide competition.
According to the department, the Dallas Police Explorers competed at the 2026 DPS Central Texas Explorer Competition held in Austin, Texas, facing off against 30 teams from across the state.
Officials said the team earned first-place finishes in the Officer Down and Intoxicated Driver scenarios, along with second place in Accident Investigation and third place in Misdemeanor Traffic. The group also placed in oral interview categories, earning additional scholarship awards for participants.
The department said the Explorers were awarded a combined total of $5,000 in scholarships for their performance.
