Waco, TX – A 36-year-old man from Hillsboro, Texas, has been arrested and charged with online solicitation of a minor after allegedly attempting to meet with an undercover officer posing as a 15-year-old girl for a sexual encounter.
Maynord Linarte-Cisneros was taken into custody after a multi-week investigation by the Lacy Lakeview Police Department.
According to an arrest warrant, an undercover detective assumed the identity of a teenage girl on Facebook and engaged in conversations with Linarte-Cisneros.
The interaction began on December 9, 2024, when Linarte-Cisneros initiated contact with the profile. In their initial exchange, the undercover officer informed him that they were a minor, to which Linarte-Cisneros reportedly acknowledged the danger of the situation by responding, “You are a minor. It is dangerous.”
Despite the warning, the two continued their online communication, with Linarte-Cisneros allegedly asking the girl about her sexual experiences by December 27. According to police, Linarte-Cisneros sent explicit images, including one of a phallus, which he later retracted by unsending the messages.
The charge against Linarte-Cisneros is an enhanced third-degree felony of online solicitation of a minor, a crime that carries significant legal consequences. In addition to the criminal charge, Linarte-Cisneros is being held on an immigration detainer, which could result in his deportation by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) if he is released from jail.
This case highlights the ongoing efforts by law enforcement to combat online predatory behavior, particularly targeting individuals attempting to exploit minors through social media platforms.
The Lacy Lakeview Police Department’s undercover operation underscores the importance of vigilance and proactive measures in protecting children from online dangers.
