Houston, TX – The Houston Police Department in Texas says a traffic stop led to the discovery of a large drug shipment hidden in a trailer’s false compartment.
According to officials, investigators seized approximately 396 kilograms of methamphetamine during the operation, which was conducted by HPD’s Narcotics Division Squad 5 in coordination with federal and local law enforcement partners.
Authorities said the investigation also involved the DEA Galveston Office, U.S. Customs and Border Protection in Houston, and the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.
Police reported that an armed suspect was arrested in connection with the case. A follow-up search of the suspect’s residence led to the recovery of an additional 73 kilograms of methamphetamine along with cash.
Officials said the coordinated effort highlights ongoing collaboration between agencies working to disrupt large-scale drug trafficking operations in the Houston area.
