Applications are open for the WPD Junior Police Academy, police officials say

Waco, TX – The Waco Police Memorial Run is set to take place on May 17, 2025, at the Redwood Shelter in Cameron Park, located at 2300 Cameron Park Dr., Waco, TX. This annual event is an opportunity to honor and remember the officers who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty, as well as to recognize the daily dedication of law enforcement officers to the community and the nation.

The event will feature a 5K run, offering both competitive and recreational opportunities for participants of all ages and abilities. As a chipped race, it will allow runners to track their times accurately. The run is organized by the Waco Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association, with Pro-Fit Race Timing providing assistance with race logistics.

This family-friendly event is more than just a race; it’s a way for the community to come together and show support for local law enforcement officers. Participants can take advantage of a discounted registration fee by signing up ahead of time. However, those who wish to register on the day of the event will still be able to participate.

“We invite everyone to join us for this important event to honor our fallen officers and celebrate the hard work and commitment of those who protect and serve our community,” said event organizers.

The Waco Police Memorial Run is a chance for people to come together, show their support for law enforcement, and reflect on the sacrifices made by officers. Whether running for personal achievement or participating in support of the community, the event promises to be an uplifting and meaningful occasion.
