Killen, TX — A shooting in Killeen on Thursday afternoon has resulted in the death of one woman and left a man with serious injuries. The incident took place near the 2700 block of Cunningham Road, close to the 3200 block of East Central Texas Expressway.
According to the Killeen Police Department, officers responded to reports of shots fired at approximately 1:18 p.m. Upon arrival, they discovered two victims, a woman who was later pronounced dead at the scene, and a man who was critically injured. The man was airlifted to a nearby hospital, though his current condition remains unclear.
Killeen Police Chief Pedro Lopez stated that investigators learned from a witness that a disturbance had occurred between the individuals involved before the suspect pulled out a weapon and began firing. The suspect was located shortly after the incident, and the shelter-in-place order previously issued for the area was lifted.
