Texas Highway Patrol hosting open testing and recruiting event in Houston for upcoming DPS Recruit Schools

Texas – The Texas Department of Public Safety is inviting potential recruits to attend an open testing and recruiting event on April 26, 2025, in Houston. The event, which will take place at Cypress Ridge High School, will provide an opportunity for individuals interested in pursuing a career with DPS to undergo fitness testing and learn more about the application process for the DPS Training Academy.

DPS Recruiters will be on-site to assist candidates, offering valuable information about the recruitment process and the benefits of a career with the Texas Highway Patrol.

Participants will be able to take part in the physical fitness testing required for entry into the academy. The event will be held on Saturday, April 26, starting at 8 a.m., with registration opening at 7:30 a.m.
