Waco, TX – Waco firefighters have been working around the clock over the past several days, responding to a surge in emergency calls during challenging winter conditions.
The department reported several significant incidents, including a house fire in the 4000 block of Colcord Avenue, another in the 2600 block of Herring Avenue, and a major blaze in the 700 block of North 14th Street that required a second alarm due to extreme fire conditions.
Overall call volume has spiked, with 96 calls received yesterday—well above the daily average of 60—and more than 50 calls already logged since midnight today.
