Waco, TX – The current city landfill will close on Saturday, February 28, as the City of Waco prepares to open its new Solid Waste Transfer Station and Landfill on Monday, March 2.
The new landfill is located at 4730 TK Parkway in Axtell, while the transfer station, at 6171 S. University Parks Drive, allows residents to drop off waste locally for transport to the landfill.
Both locations include Customer Convenience Centers for quick disposal of trash, recyclables, tires, and other household items.
Residential solid waste customers may drop off up to one ton (2,000 pounds) of waste at either site four times per year at no additional cost. The city encourages residents to take advantage of these upgraded facilities for more efficient and convenient waste disposal.
