Waco, TX – 29-year-old Waco man, Jesse Hernandez, has been arrested and charged with online solicitation of a minor and unlawful possession of a weapon following an undercover operation orchestrated by the Lacy Lakeview Police Department.
According to an arrest warrant, the operation began when a detective from the Lacy Lakeview Police Department posed as a 15-year-old girl on Facebook.
On January 11, 2025, Hernandez initiated contact with the undercover detective, who identified herself as a young girl. Despite the immediate disclosure of her age, Hernandez reportedly continued the conversation, acknowledging the age difference but proceeding with inappropriate propositions.
The messages quickly escalated, with Hernandez allegedly asking the “girl” if she wanted to drink and smoke with him.
The situation escalated further when Hernandez sent a sexually explicit image of himself to the “girl” and agreed to meet her in person at a park in the 600 block of North Patricia Drive. When Hernandez arrived at the park later that day, undercover officers spotted his red vehicle and arrested him.
A search of the vehicle uncovered a Ruger 9mm handgun under the driver’s seat, along with marijuana, the arrest warrant states. Hernandez was taken into custody and later released from the McLennan County Jail after posting a $25,000 bond.
He now faces charges of online solicitation of a minor and unlawful possession of a weapon.
The Lacy Lakeview Police Department continues to investigate the case.
