Austin, TX — Governor Greg Abbott has appointed Michael Ferry to serve as judge of the 213th Judicial District Court in Tarrant County, according to an announcement from the Governor’s Office.
Ferry will serve a term set to expire on December 31, 2026, or until a successor is elected and qualified.
Ferry, of Fort Worth, currently serves as an assistant district attorney in the Narcotics Unit of the Tarrant County District Attorney’s Office.
He also works as a Special Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Texas, Fort Worth Division.
His previous experience includes serving as a special agent with the Drug Enforcement Administration, as well as a lieutenant and surface warfare officer in the United States Navy. Ferry is a member of the State Bar of Texas and the Federalist Society.
He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Southern California and a Juris Doctor from the University of San Francisco.
