Waco, TX – The Waco Police Department spent Saturday collecting school supply donations as officers prepared for the department’s upcoming Back to School Bash, an event aimed at helping local students start the new school year with the supplies they need.
Officers set up a donation drive at the Walmart on Hewitt Drive, where community members were invited to drop off school supplies throughout the day. The department said the collection effort will help support families and students participating in the annual event.
The donation drive also received support from the McLennan County Sheriff’s Office, which made a special delivery of school supplies to assist with the initiative.
Waco police thanked everyone who contributed to the collection, saying community support is essential to the success of the Back to School Bash.
