Waco Police Department collects school supplies for annual Back to School Bash

Waco, TX – The Waco Police Department spent Saturday collecting school supply donations as officers prepared for the department’s upcoming Back to School Bash, an event aimed at helping local students start the new school year with the supplies they need.

Officers set up a donation drive at the Walmart on Hewitt Drive, where community members were invited to drop off school supplies throughout the day. The department said the collection effort will help support families and students participating in the annual event.

The donation drive also received support from the McLennan County Sheriff’s Office, which made a special delivery of school supplies to assist with the initiative.

Waco police thanked everyone who contributed to the collection, saying community support is essential to the success of the Back to School Bash.

According to the department, donations of school supplies help ensure students are equipped for the upcoming academic year while easing the financial burden on local families.

Officials encouraged residents who were unable to attend the collection event but would still like to contribute to learn more about the Back to School Bash or make a donation through the program’s organizers.

The Waco Police Department hosts the Back to School Bash each year as part of its ongoing community outreach efforts, bringing together law enforcement, local organizations, businesses, and volunteers to support students and strengthen relationships with the community ahead of the new school year.
