Waco, TX – The City of Waco is encouraging residents and business owners affected by severe weather and flash flooding on June 14 to report storm-related damage through the State’s disaster reporting system.
In an update shared on June 15, city officials thanked first responders and street crews who worked through the night during the storms and said crews continued assessing damage across the community.
On June 16, the City announced that a storm damage survey was available for residents and businesses that experienced damage from the severe storms and flash flooding.
Officials said the information collected will help state and local emergency management agencies determine the extent of damage throughout the area and assess potential needs for disaster assistance and recovery resources.
According to the City, submitting a report does not guarantee disaster assistance. However, officials said the survey is an important first step in determining whether the area may qualify for individual disaster assistance programs.
Residents and business owners affected by the storms were asked to report damage through the Texas Division of Emergency Management’s online reporting system for the “June 14 Severe Storms and Flash Floods” event.
City officials also encouraged residents to report any issues requiring attention by using the MyWaco App, contacting the City’s information line, or notifying local officials as damage assessments continue across Waco.
