Waco, TX – The City of Waco has announced the appointment of David Olson, P.E., as its new assistant city manager, with his new role set to begin on Aug. 31.
Olson brings more than 20 years of municipal leadership and engineering experience to the position. Most recently, he served as assistant city manager for the City of Temple.
According to the City of Waco, Olson will oversee several key departments, including Infrastructure Services, Public Works, Customer Engagement, and Development Services. City officials said his leadership will help support Waco’s continued growth and commitment to delivering high-quality public services.
“Waco is a city with incredible momentum, outstanding employees, and tremendous opportunities ahead,” Olson said. “I look forward to working alongside City staff, elected officials, and community partners as we continue building on the great work already underway.”
The city welcomed Olson to Team Waco and said his experience in municipal management and engineering will play an important role in guiding major infrastructure and public service initiatives in the years ahead.
